Easy Walks

1. Loch an Eilein

Distance: 4 miles (6.4 km)
Route: A gentle circuit around the picturesque Loch an Eilein.
Highlights: This Walk offers stunning views of the loch and its 13th-century island castle. The trail is well-maintained and mostly flat, making it perfect for families and those looking for a relaxed stroll. You might even spot red squirrels and other wildlife along the way.

2. Rothiemurchus Forest

Distance: 2-5 miles (3.2-8 km) depending on the chosen path
Route: Various trails wind through ancient Caledonian pine forest.

3. Craigellachie Nature Reserve

1. Meall a' Bhuachaille

Route: A well-defined path starting at Glenmore Visitor Centre.
Highlights: This moderate hike rewards you with stunning views of the Cairngorms from the summit. The trail also passes through beautiful pine forests and heather moorland.

2. Ryvoan Pass and the Green Lochan

Distance: 5 miles (8 km)
Route: Starting from Glenmore, follow the path through the Ryvoan Pass to An Lochan Uaine.
Highlights: The Green Lochan is known for its striking emerald waters. This scenic walk combines forest paths with open moorland and offers great spots for a picnic.

3. Chalamain Gap circuit, Glenmore

Distance: 18km / 11.25 miles
The Chalamain Gap is a bouldery defile on the path that links the Cairn Gorm ski road with the Lairig Ghru. It forms the centrepiece of this grand circular walk that combines many of the finest aspects of the Cairngorms - rocky, bare mountainsides, beautiful pinewoods, and forest lochs.
