There are so many interesting things to see in the Spey Valley, you may need to extend your stay to see them all. Below are just a few pleases for you to visit in the Spey valley.
The Highland Folk Museum is situated within the boundaries of the Cairngorms National Park on two sites: one in Kingussie; the other two and a half miles away (4 Km) at Newtonmore. The aims of the Museum include preserving and recording aspects of Highland life from the 1700s onwards, as well as interpreting the people’s lives through interactive living history and activities we keep our heritage alive and promise you a time to remember!

Landmark Adventure Park Landmark is a truly awesome day out and easily a whole day’s entertainment (educational too, but so fun you won’t notice). Cairngorm Reindeer Centre The U.K,s only herd of reindeer roaming freely in their own natural environment. You can join one of our reindeer herders on a hill trip and find out everything you need to know about reindeer or down at our Reindeer Centre we have a large exhibition in our paddocks.

The Highland Wildlife Park Discover Scottish wildlife and endangered animals of the world’s mountains and tundra, including Mercedes the polar bear, in the spectacular setting of the Highland Wildlife Park. We are open daily. Opening times in October are 10am – 5pm (last entry 1 hour before closing). Drive around the Main Reserve in your own car and then investigate the walk-round area.

Strathspey Steam Railway The Strathspey Railway which runs from Aviemore, through Boat of Garten ending at Broomhill and takes you on a nostalgic 20 mile round trip along part of the original Highland Railway main line from Perth to Inverness. The train passes through spectacular scenery running along side the River Spey with the Cairngorm Mountains in the background completing the picture. The Cairngorm Funicular Railway The UK’s highest mountain railway journey offers spectacular views of an ancient Scottish mountain landscape and the viewing terrace at the top offers you the best weather watching opportunity in Britain. All seasons in 1 hour or less……The mountain is the most popular visitor attraction with the Cairngorms National Park. Visitors travel in safety and comfort on a 2km journey from the Base Station at car park level (635m) to the Ptarmigan Top Station 1097m above sea level and just below the summit of Cairn Gorm mountain – Britain’s 6th highest mountain. The train is fully accessible for wheelchair users and both the Base Station and Ptarmgian Station have lift access to all levels.

Speyside Heather Centre The Speyside Heather Visitor and Garden Centre, is an award winning 4-star visitor attraction. It is located at Skye of Curr, near Dulnain Bridge on the A95 between Aviemore to Grantown. There is lots to see from Unique Heather Story Exhibition, Wildlife Viewing Stations, Gift Shop, Boutique, Art Gallery, Heather trail, Display Garden, Garden Centre and the Clootie Dumpling Restaurant.
